Stop # 1
SightseeingI went during lantern festival, so the whole city was decorated with these beautiful lanterns which looked absolutely amazing at night!
Nanjing Historic City Centre
Very nice to just take a stroll and look at the beautiful buildings, though a lot of it is newly built, but in an ancient style.
Nanjing City Wall
One of the longest and well preserved ancient city walls in China. Great for an afternoon stroll!
Qin Huai River
You can have a short boat trip and explore Nanjing's historic city centre from the water.
Purple Mountain
There are a lot of mausoleums and tombs on the mountain and you also have a great view over the surrounding area. If you're not that fond of crowded places, then head to Linggu temple, which is a very quiet area and definitely worth a visit. There are shuttle buses taking you from sight to sight.
Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall
A museum commemorating the horros of the Nanjing massacre during World War II when Japanese soldies killed thousends of Chinese and almost completely destroyed the city. A very modern museum with an emotional impact similar to a Holocaust museum.
Stop # 2
SightseeingA very, very modern city but to be honest, Hongkong, just over the border, is way nicer.
Fairy Lake Botanical Garden
Not really a botanical garden, more just like a giant park where you can spend the day exploring nature. And obviously, there is also a temple in the middle.
Chinese Folk Cultural Village
This park is basically a minature version of whole China. China's most famous sites are displayed as minature versions and different Chinese minority groups disply folk dances and shows. The big dance and acrobatics show iin the evening is amazing!
Stop # 3
SightseeingA bustling mix between East and West, old and new. Very crowded though, but amazing food! Most hostels are really shady.
Victoria Peak
A must-see: Absolutely amazing view over Hongkong from the top of the peak! You can get up there with the historic peak tram.
